FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

 

Q: I haventt skied or snowboarded for years. What would you recommend for me??
A: If you don't feel confident to come along to our public sessions, why not try a Private lesson? This should get you back on track. If you are more confident why not try one of our Coaching Sessions?

Q: Are you open all year round?
A: Yes. Except 25th and 26th December and 1st and 2nd Of January. Out of season is an ideal time to get lots of practise.

Q: What happens if it is raining?
A: All activities can go ahead in the rain so please dress for the weather.

Q: How much does it cost to hire equipment?
A: Equipment hire is included in the cost of your lesson or session.

Q: Do you cater for people with disabilities?
A: We have a number of instructors who are specially trained in looking after people with disabilities. Please contact our bookings office to discuss your needs or use our Enquiry form.

Q: What should I wear?
A: All activities are outside so please dress appropriately for the weather. For all activities you will need long sleeves, trousers and gloves. For skiing and snowboarding trousers should be loose fitting and a pair of knee length socks will make the boots more comfortable. Helmets are essential and we will provide these for you. Q: Can I practice skiing or snowboarding at any time?
A: Please see the Public Session section of our web site for times. All times are for the main slope there are no Public Sessions on the nursery slope. You must meet the minimum standards to come along for public sessions. Please see our Policies page for further information.

If you are having lessons and would like to get some practise in between classes, please book in for our Practise Sessions on Wednesday nights.

Q: Are there any age limits?
A: Children aged 4 and over can learn to ski and 7 and over for snowboarding. The minimum age for tubing is 5.

Q: Are your instructors qualified?
A: Yes. All of our instructors hold qualifications recognised by the governing body and receive regular training. See Instructors.

Q: What is your booking policy?
A: All lessons, coached sessions, practise sessions and tubing must be booked and paid in advance. In the event that you have to cancel a lesson, a 100% credit will be offered to an alternative lesson provided more than 24 hours notice is given. If the lesson is cancelled less than 24 hours in advance, or we are not notified of cancellation, then no credit or refund will be offered. In the event that Aberdeen Snowsports Centre has to cancel your lesson then a credit of 100% towards and alternative lesson, or a full refund, will be offered.

Q: Can we buy food at the Centre?
A: We have hot and cold drinks available from our vending machines as well as snacks.

Q: Do you hire out equipment for taking up to the mountains or abroad?
A: No, unfortunately we are unable to rent out equipment for taking elsewhere at the moment although this may change in the future so we'll keep you posted!

Q: Do you have any jobs available?
A: We are continually looking for new members to join our team so if you hold a current instructor qualification or are just looking for customer service work then pop in and pick up an application form.
