This information is intended to give you an insight into our lesson programme at the centre.
For information on what happens in the lessons once you are booked in, please see reverse.
To make a booking, contact our bookings team via the reception desk at the centre, by telephone or email. Payment is required at the time of booking for all lessons. All prices include equipment hire.
Notice of cancellation must be given 24 hours prior to the first lesson in order to receive a full refund or credit towards a rescheduled lesson. Lessons cancelled with less than 24 hours notice will not receive a credit or refund. If you have any medical conditions, special needs or are taking any medication, please advise your instructor.
Types of Lessons- Block lessons, Fast track lessons and Private lessonsDESCRIPTION OF LESSONS
Block Lessons-Cost: £48 for juniors/students, £72 for Adults
Six week blocks of one hour lessons on the same day and time each week.
Classes run every weekday evening (except Wed- see practice session details below) and every weekend. They also run in line with the school term with alternative options throughout the holidays.
Block lessons run at 3 different abilities: Green, Blue and Red level (see below for more details of ability levels).

You are required to pay for your block at the time of booking. If for any reason, you are unable to attend any week, you should inform the bookings team who will recommend either a practice session (free Wednesday sessions) or a private lesson (additional cost) to catch up.
Fast Track Block lessons- Cost: £48 for juniors/students, £72 for Adults
Ideal for those who are unable to attend the six week block and who are keen to learn quickly.
Fast Track blocks run at both green and blue level (see below for ability levels).
Two 3 hour lessons either over two consecutive days or two consecutive weeks. Please see bookings team for details of dates and times of lessons.
You must be able to attend both dates for a fast track lesson.
Private lessons- Cost: £30 for 1st person and £10 per each additional person up to a maximum of 10.
One hour lessons designed specifically for you at a time which suits you.
Why not learn with a small group of family or friends.
Each person must be of similar ability level in order to gain maximum progression.
Please advise at the time of booking your level of ability and any specific learning requirements.

Please advise the bookings team of your availability and allow at least 48 hrs notice.
Practice Sessions- Cost: £8 juniors/student, £12 Adults
This session gives you an hour of practice on the beginner slope under instructor supervision.
This is an ideal opportunity to practise what you have learned so far.
If you miss a lesson or require a little extra practice, your instructor may recommend this session for you.
This session is free to all people currently taking block lessons.
Sessions run every Wednesday at 4-5pm, 5.30-6.30pm, 7-8pm & 8.30-9.30pm, sessions must be booked a maximum of 7 days in advance.

LESSON LEVELS OF ABILITY
Green- Beginner level
Designed for complete beginners to those who have tried a few times.
Learn the basics- Ski- x 2 snowplough turns. Snowboard- basic J & C turns.
On the beginner slope.
Blue- Intermediate level
Designed for those who have just completed a green block to those who have spent up to 1 week learning on snow.
Learn to- Ski- snowplough through to plough parallel. Snowboard- linked turns on heel and toe edges.
On Dendix/ Alpine slope.
Red- Improver/Advanced level
Designed for those who have completed the blue block to those who can ski but want to get better.
Learn to- Ski- improve technique & turns. Snowboard- Improve turns and learn basic tricks.
On Dendix/ Alpine slope.
WHAT HAPPENS IN LESSONS?
Block lessons-
Your lessons are for 1 hour and begin at the same time each week. Your block will run for 6 weeks.
You must report to the reception desk in weeks 1 and 5 of your block.
In week 1 the you must check in at reception.
Please arrive at least 15 minutes prior to your lesson to ensure you are ready to begin on time.
Your instructor will meet you in the equipment rental room.
In week 1, the first part of your lesson will be receiving and trying on your equipment.
Your equipment will be set up for your remaining block lessons in ski hire each week with your name attached.
Each week you will cover different syllabus elements needed to progress to the next level.
If you cannot attend a class, please advise the bookings team.
In week 5 your instructor will give you a recommendation for the next block, you should then confirm your place in the next block with the booking team (after the lesson).
Towards the end of a blue block, you instructor will advise when you are up to minimum standard to attend the main slopes open sessions.
After you have completed the Red block, your instructor will recommended you attend one of our club and open sessions.
Fast Track lessons-
Your lessons are for 3 hours over two days; dates are specified at time of booking.
Please arrive at least 15 minutes prior to your lesson to ensure you are ready to begin on time.
Your equipment will be set up for your 2nd lesson in ski hire with your name attached.
At the end of your 2nd lesson, your instructor will advise you of the level you have reached; you will need this information for future lesson bookings.
Private lessons-
Your lesson is for one hour (unless multiple hours booked).
Please advise at the time of booking of your level of ability and any specific learning requirements.
Please arrive 15 minutes early to receive your rental equipment.
On your 1st lesson, you will receive a card stating your equipment sizes, please produce this card at the rental equipment desk for future lessons.
LESSON SUMMARY
At Aberdeen Snowsports Centre we aim to provide you with a top class learning experience with a qualified, knowledgeable and dedicated team at one of the UK’s leading dry slopes. We have a Snowflex beginner slope with two beginner tows for those starting out, an 80 metre Dendix slope with poma tow and a Snowflex Alpine Feature park complete with rails, jumps and a quarter pipe!
We are a friendly team so if you feel a little nervous, don’t worry! We’ll look after you. If you have any questions, please ask.
